Mechanical experience, a 4 hour discovery of watchmaking, assembly of key components of a simple mechanical watch. Learn/develop new skills following 1-2-1 demonstrations and tutorials, providing all the support you may require with an experienced watchmaker and tutor guiding you step-by-step through the process of movement and case assembly including performance and quality checks.
Please note – minimum age requirement for Watchmaking Experiences is 18, however accomodation can be made for under 18s if accompanied by a parent or guardian

History
Follow the evolution of timekeeping and find out some of the pivotal moments in horological technology.

Assembly
Step-by-step instruction on how to assemble a basic mechanical movement. You will be guided through the process and bring the movement you have assembled to life when energy is applied and the watch’s heart begins to beat.

Fitting Dials & Hands
Following instruction, fit the dial and handset to the watch movement, complete alignment and synchronisation checks.

Regulation of Timekeeping
Discover how a mechanical watch’s timekeeping is adjusted, then have a go at adjusting the timekeeping of the watch.

Casing Assembly
Introduction to the variety of tools watchmakers use to open and close watch cases, having fitted the movement, dial and handset to the case, complete a quality control check before closing the case

Water Resistant Test
Learn the different types of water resistance specifications and the variety of different tests that are completed on them. Then complete your own water resistance test on the watch.

Display Movement
As a memorable gift you can take the movement you have assembled home, in a display case ready to show your friends and family.
